Panelists:
Christine Margiotta is the Vice President of Community Investment at United Way of Greater Los Angeles. She leads United Way's community and collaborative efforts to break the cycle of poverty through Education, Income and Housing. For our housing work, she helps lead our region's initiative to end chronic and veteran homelessness, cultivating the collaboration of cross-sector leaders to design, fund, and implement innovative, effective solutions to homelessness.
Jonathon Smith is a navigator at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory where he has helped guide spacecraft to Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, and several comets and asteroids. He has been an active member of the Effective Altruism (EA) community since attending the EA Retreat and Summit in 2014. Since then, he has helped The Life You Can Save and Vegan Outreach evaluate the impact of grass roots leafleting programs, and is currently an organizer with Effective Altruism Los Angeles.
Marie-Aimee Brajeux is a consultant and strategic adviser to social ventures around the world, combining community-based research skills with academic expertise to solve real world problems. She have vast experience measuring organizational impact and designing models of social change for both non-profits and double bottom line businesses working to make a difference in underserved communities.
Dr. Adrian Hightower is Manager of the Education Unit at Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, where he leads their K-12 education programs, including Solar Cup. He is also a consultant with battery, photovoltaic and power utility companies. He is on the Board of Directors of Aid Africa, an NPO doing work in rural villages in Uganda.
